I’ve been off the bike for 2 weeks due to vacation and heavy rain. Today I increased cadence to improve track performance. This needs to be a point of emphasis in the off season with specific training sessions at high cadence. The higher cadence raised my HR and cost some speed. I also rode an unfamiliar route which reduced some speed. I pushed my saddle forward about 3/4″ which improved my position and reduced back fatigue.
